Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.
GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.
STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

4. Shipping
Hand over your return at a DPD parcel point or a carrier of your choice.
Returning (part of) your order is at your own risk. Keep the proof of delivery until we have received and processed your package.
Please note! After registering your return online, you have 14 days to return your parcel to the postal service. If you return the parcel after these 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return.
5. Refund
You will receive confirmation by e-mail when your return has been received and processed.
This is usually within a few days after your order has been delivered to us. The money will then be refunded to the account you paid with within a week after confirmation (usually longer for credit card payments). If you have chosen to pay afterwards, this will be adjusted on your Klarna invoice.

The Peak Performance Trail Polartec® Power Grid™ Zip Hood is a men's midweight grid fleece midlayer for active days in cool, dry conditions. The 231 gsm Polartec® Power Grid™ fabric has a grid-structured back that keeps air moving while you work uphill, and 7% elastane so the fleece follows your movement. It carries no membrane, so weather protection on a mountain day has to come from the shell you put over it.
Who is this midlayer for?
Choose the Trail Polartec® Power Grid™ Zip Hood if you want one fleece that doubles as a ski and touring midlayer and as a standalone top on cool, dry days, and you value air permeability and stretch over extra warmth. It is not the layer for standing at a lift in deep cold, and not an outer layer when rain, wet snow or sustained wind is on the forecast.
How warm is this grid fleece?
Warmth in the Peak Performance Trail Polartec® Power Grid™ Zip Hood comes from a midweight 231 gsm flat fleece face with a grid back, not from insulation fill. In practice that means steady warmth while you are moving and quick cooling once you stop. Flatlock seams keep the shoulders and underarms free of chafing under a pack or a shell, and the thumbholes at the sleeve hems hold the cuffs in place while you pull a jacket over the top.
Which size should you choose?
The cut is a regular fit: close enough to layer under a ski shell, roomy enough to wear over a base layer. Check the Peak Performance size chart on this page against your chest measurement before you order. Sizes run S to 2XL, with 2XL carried in BLACK, AZURE ASCENT and Meadow Moss only. If your shell is slim-cut, make sure it has room for a midweight fleece underneath.
How is the Trail Polartec® Power Grid™ Zip Hood constructed?
Peak Performance builds the Trail Polartec® Power Grid™ Zip Hood from a single layer of 231 gsm Polartec® Power Grid™ flat fleece. The face is smooth, so it slides under a shell sleeve; the back is cut into a grid of raised channels that leaves space for air and water vapour to move. There is no lining and no membrane in this midlayer — one fabric does all the work. The front closes with a full-length reversed YKK coil zipper behind a chinguard, and every seam is flatlock stitched so nothing ridges up under a pack strap. A patch chest pocket with a reverse coil zip takes a phone or a snack; there are no hand pockets, and the hem, cuffs and hood have no adjustment.
Is the Trail Polartec® Power Grid™ Zip Hood suitable for ski touring?
On the uphill, yes. The grid back of the Peak Performance Trail Polartec® Power Grid™ Zip Hood keeps air circulating on a skin track, the 7% elastane lets you reach and stride without the fleece pulling, and the thumbholes stop the sleeves riding up when you change layers at a transition. For the descent, put a shell over it. This fleece stops where the weather starts: it has no water column, no membrane and no stated wind protection, so rain, wet snow and sustained wind are the shell's job. The hood is fixed and cannot be removed, which adds cover at the neck but also means you carry it on every outing. Outside skiing, the same fleece works for hiking and general outdoor use in cool, dry weather and as an everyday top.
What is this fleece made of and how do you wash it?
The Trail Polartec® Power Grid™ Zip Hood is made from 60% recycled polyester, 33% polyester and 7% elastane — a single-layer construction that dries faster than a thick fleece and takes repeated washing without a membrane to protect. Machine wash at 40 °C, inside out, with the zippers closed and with similar colours. Skip the softener, which clogs the fibres and the grid structure. Tumble dry on low or dry flat in the shade, take the garment out promptly after washing, and do not iron, bleach, dry clean or professional wet clean it.
How sustainable is this midlayer?
Two concrete points, both verifiable on the garment. The shell fabric of the Peak Performance Trail Polartec® Power Grid™ Zip Hood contains 60% recycled polyester, and the fleece is made without intentionally added PFAS. Peak Performance's own argument for longevity sits in the construction as well: flatlock seams and a stretch knit that keeps its shape are what keeps a midlayer in use for several seasons.
