Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.
GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.
STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

4. Shipping
Hand over your return at a DPD parcel point or a carrier of your choice.
Returning (part of) your order is at your own risk. Keep the proof of delivery until we have received and processed your package.
Please note! After registering your return online, you have 14 days to return your parcel to the postal service. If you return the parcel after these 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return.
5. Refund
You will receive confirmation by e-mail when your return has been received and processed.
This is usually within a few days after your order has been delivered to us. The money will then be refunded to the account you paid with within a week after confirmation (usually longer for credit card payments). If you have chosen to pay afterwards, this will be adjusted on your Klarna invoice.

Who is this fleece for?
This midlayer suits a skier who wants one warm, stretchy hood that works under a ski shell on the mountain and on its own for hiking and travel. It is not an outer layer for bad weather: the Rider Essentials Midlayer Zip Hood Men has no membrane, so it wets out in rain or wet snow, and the brushed fleece lets wind through on exposed ridges. If you are looking for a thin grid midlayer for high-output touring in mild weather, this 271 g/m2 fleece will be too warm.
How warm is a 271 g/m2 fleece?
The flat fleece in the Peak Performance Rider Essentials Midlayer Zip Hood Men has a brushed back that traps warm air, which puts it in warm midweight territory rather than light. The fabric wicks moisture and dries quickly, so it keeps working on the climb as well as the descent. In winter conditions wear an insulated or shell jacket over it; on its own it covers dry, mild days.

The Peak Performance Rider Essentials Midlayer Zip Hood Men is a single-layer construction: one 271 g/m2 flat fleece, brushed on the inside, with no lining and no membrane. The brushed back is what does the insulating, holding a layer of still air against the base layer, while the smooth face keeps friction low when a shell goes over it. The 14% elastane in the shell is the second half of the design: the fabric follows arm and shoulder movement instead of binding at the shoulder seam when you pole or reach. Closures are kept simple, with a YKK coil zipper running the full length of the front, fleece lining at the chin and two zippered hand pockets.
Is it suitable for ski touring and hiking?
On the hill, the Rider Essentials Midlayer Zip Hood Men is a ski midlayer first: base layer, this fleece, then a shell or insulated jacket. It wicks moisture and dries quickly, so a sweaty skin track does not leave you in a cold, damp layer at the top. For hiking and everyday wear in dry, mild weather it works as the outer layer on its own. Where it stops is weather protection and fine-tuning. There is no water column and no DWR, so precipitation goes straight in. The single-layer hood has no adjustment and no stated helmet compatibility, and there is no hem drawcord, cuff adjustment or ventilation, so you regulate temperature with the front zip alone. For high-output touring in mild weather, a lighter fleece is the better call.
What is the fabric and how do you care for it?
The shell of the Rider Essentials Midlayer Zip Hood Men is 86% recycled polyester with 14% elastane; the pockets are 100% polyester. That blend is hard-wearing and shrug-resistant in a pack, but elastane dislikes heat and fabric softener. Machine wash at 40 degrees Celsius, inside out, with the zippers closed and similar colours, and skip the softener so the fleece keeps lofting and wicking. Tumble dry on low or line dry in the shade. Do not iron, bleach or dry clean.
