However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.

Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.
GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.
STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

4. Shipping
Hand over your return at a DPD parcel point or a carrier of your choice.
Returning (part of) your order is at your own risk. Keep the proof of delivery until we have received and processed your package.
Please note! After registering your return online, you have 14 days to return your parcel to the postal service. If you return the parcel after these 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return.
5. Refund
You will receive confirmation by e-mail when your return has been received and processed.
This is usually within a few days after your order has been delivered to us. The money will then be refunded to the account you paid with within a week after confirmation (usually longer for credit card payments). If you have chosen to pay afterwards, this will be adjusted on your Klarna invoice.

It weighs 148 g in its single OSFA size, and the turn-up hem places a double layer of knit over the ears. It is unisex and comes in six colourways, including BLACK, Vintage White and BLUE SHADOW.
Who is the Cornice Hat for?
The Peak Performance Cornice Hat suits you if you want straightforward warmth for the walk into the village, the ride up the lift without a helmet and the hours after skiing. It is not a touring or running hat: the 100% acrylic knit has no moisture-management function, so high-output days are outside its remit. It is also not weather protection. There is no membrane and no water-repellent finish, so wet snow or rain will soak through the knit.
How warm is the Cornice Hat?
Warmth in the Peak Performance Cornice Hat comes from the knit itself, not from insulation: 148 g of ribbed acrylic, doubled over the ears where the hem folds up. There is no lining and no insulation fill behind the fabric, which keeps the hat thin enough to pull on over a hood collar but means it works best as everyday cold-weather headwear rather than as deep-cold equipment.
Which size should you choose?
There is no size decision to make: the Cornice Hat is supplied in one size only (OSFA), with ribbed knitting providing the stretch. How deep it sits is set by the folded hem, worn turned up for a shorter fit or pulled down for more ear coverage. If you ski in a close-fitting helmet, note that the folded hem adds bulk underneath, so this is better worn on its own.
How is the Peak Performance Cornice Hat constructed?
One fabric, no technical layers. The Peak Performance Cornice Hat is knitted entirely from acrylic in a ribbed structure, and the bottom edge is folded upward to form a turn-up brim. That fold is the only place where the fabric doubles, so the knit is thickest exactly where it sits across the forehead and over the ears. Behind the knit there is no membrane, no coating and no lining. Total weight is 148 g in the OSFA size. The rib provides the stretch, which is why the hat needs no drawcord, elastic band or adjustment.
Is the Cornice Hat suitable for skiing?
For lift-served piste days where you ski without a helmet, the Peak Performance Cornice Hat does the job: it covers the ears, pulls on over a base layer collar and goes straight from the slope to the terrace. Where it stops is clear. Under a close-fitting ski or snowboard helmet the folded hem adds bulk, so it is not a helmet liner. On a ski tour or any other high-output day the acrylic knit has no stated moisture management, so it is the wrong choice for sustained climbing. And in prolonged snowfall or rain there is nothing to stop water: no water column, no membrane, no durable water-repellent treatment. Treat it as a warm hat for town, village and chairlift, and keep a shell hood or a technical cap for the weather days.
What is the Cornice Hat made of and how do you wash it?
The shell of the Peak Performance Cornice Hat is 100% acrylic, with no merino or other natural fibre in the blend, so it offers neither wool-based moisture regulation nor wool-based odour resistance. Acrylic does keep the hat light at 148 g and holds its colour across the six colourways. Care is more demanding than a machine-washable beanie: hand wash cold at 30 degrees, no bleach, no fabric softener, no tumble drying, no ironing, no dry cleaning and no professional wet cleaning. Wash it with similar colours, take it out of the water promptly and dry it flat in the shade. Budget a day for drying rather than an hour in the dryer.
What does Peak Performance say about PFAS?
The Cornice Hat is made without intentionally added PFAS. On a knitted hat that is a material choice rather than a performance compromise, because there is no water-repellent chemistry involved in the construction in the first place. It fits the way Peak Performance approaches its accessories: a short material list, a construction you can inspect by hand, and no claim beyond what the fabric actually does.
