Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.
GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.
STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

4. Shipping
Hand over your return at a DPD parcel point or a carrier of your choice.
Returning (part of) your order is at your own risk. Keep the proof of delivery until we have received and processed your package.
Please note! After registering your return online, you have 14 days to return your parcel to the postal service. If you return the parcel after these 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return.
5. Refund
You will receive confirmation by e-mail when your return has been received and processed.
This is usually within a few days after your order has been delivered to us. The money will then be refunded to the account you paid with within a week after confirmation (usually longer for credit card payments). If you have chosen to pay afterwards, this will be adjusted on your Klarna invoice.

It is the first layer next to your skin, under a midlayer and shell, for resort skiing, off-piste and backcountry days, mountaineering, hiking and general winter use. What sets it apart is this 2-in-1 construction: LIFA® on the inside moves moisture away from your skin, and Merino wool on the outside adds breathable warmth.
Who is the Helly Hansen LIFA® Merino Midweight Crew Base Layer for?
This midweight base layer suits skiers and mountain users who work hard, sweat, and want a breathable first layer under a ski jacket. It is not an outer layer. The knit has no membrane, so it gives no protection from snow, rain or wind and always needs a shell on top in that weather. It is also not your only warm layer on a cold day: add a midlayer and/or an insulated jacket. If you want a garment that is 100% Merino wool, note that the overall fabric is 57% Merino wool and 43% polypropylene, with the Merino on the outside.
How warm and breathable is the LIFA® Merino Midweight Crew?
The Helly Hansen LIFA® Merino Midweight Crew Base Layer has no added insulation. Its warmth comes from the midweight 2-layer fabric and from LIFA® Stay Warm Technology: the LIFA® interior wicks moisture off your skin, and the Merino wool exterior is highly breathable. Drier skin means you stay warmer on climbs and in stop-and-go skiing. Flat lock seams and a non-itch fabric keep it comfortable next to the skin.
Which size should I choose?
The LIFA® Merino Midweight Crew has a regular fit, and Helly Hansen describes the 2-layer construction as fitted, so it sits close to the body as a first layer should. How does the 2-layer construction of the Helly Hansen LIFA® Merino Midweight Crew work?
The Helly Hansen LIFA® Merino Midweight Crew Base Layer is knitted as one fabric with two faces. The inner face is 100% LIFA®, the fibre Helly Hansen uses for moisture management in its base layers. It sits against your skin and moves sweat outward instead of holding it. The outer face is 100% Merino wool, which takes up that moisture and lets it breathe away while adding warmth. Helly Hansen calls this combination LIFA® Stay Warm Technology. There is no membrane and no insulation fill in this base layer top: everything it does comes from the knit itself. That is why it breathes so freely, and also why it needs other layers over it when the weather turns.
Is the Helly Hansen LIFA® Merino Midweight Crew suitable for ski touring?

On the skin track you can often wear it with only a light layer on top. At the summit, on transitions and on the descent, the picture changes: the knit stops no wind and no snow, so pull on a midlayer and a shell before you cool down. Treat it as the layer that keeps your skin dry, not as the layer that keeps the weather out.
Can you wear the LIFA® Merino Midweight Crew for resort skiing?
The Helly Hansen LIFA® Merino Midweight Crew Base Layer works on the piste under a ski jacket, and Helly Hansen lists it for resort skiing and off-piste. On lift rides and in cold, still conditions, a midweight base layer alone does not provide the warmth you need. Combine it with an insulated midlayer and/or an insulated ski jacket on colder days. The crew neck sits low at the throat, so it pairs easily with a neck gaiter or the collar of your midlayer.
What is the LIFA® Merino Midweight Crew made of, and how do you wash it?
The overall fabric of the Helly Hansen LIFA® Merino Midweight Crew Base Layer is 57% Merino wool and 43% polypropylene, built as a 100% Merino wool exterior and a 100% LIFA® interior. Flat lock seams lie flat against the skin and add to comfort and durability. Because of the wool content, this base layer needs wool care. Wash it inside out with a wool detergent, never use fabric softener, and do not wring it after washing. Following these steps protects the Merino exterior and keeps the LIFA® interior wicking as intended. If you prefer to wash everything with regular detergent and softener, a different base layer will suit you better.
