What Is an Insulated Ski Jacket and What Are the Options?
An insulated ski jacket is essential for anyone seeking warmth and comfort while skiing or snowboarding. The insulation helps maintain your body temperature, even in the harshest conditions. There are different types of insulation, each with its own advantages. In this guide, we explain the differences so you can make the perfect choice.

Down Insulation: Lightweight and Extremely Warm
A jacket insulated with down is the ideal choice for those looking for maximum warmth without sacrificing comfort. Down provides excellent insulation and is very lightweight, making it perfect for cold, dry conditions. However, keep in mind that down performs less well in wet conditions unless the jacket has been specially treated to resist moisture.

Wool Insulation: Natural and Breathable
Jackets with wool insulation offer a natural alternative. Wool is not only warm but also breathable and retains heat even when damp. This option is ideal for those who prefer natural materials and comfort in varying weather conditions.

Synthetic Insulation: Versatile and Low-Maintenance
Synthetic insulation, such as PrimaLoft or Thinsulate, offers excellent warmth and performs well in wet conditions. This option is often slightly heavier than down but dries quickly and is easier to care for. It’s ideal for active winter sports enthusiasts who value versatility and affordability.

Why Choose an Insulated Ski Jacket?

  • Optimal Warmth: Protect yourself against extreme cold.

  • Comfort During Activity: Maintain your freedom of movement without sacrificing insulation.

  • Suitable for Various Weather Conditions: Whether you're skiing in powder snow or braving a cold wind, an insulated jacket adapts to your needs.

Which Insulation Suits You Best?
The right insulation depends on your personal preferences and the conditions in which you’ll wear the jacket. Looking for ultimate warmth and comfort? Go for down. Need a versatile, low-maintenance option? Consider synthetic materials. Or choose wool for a natural feel.

Our premium ski jackets combine functionality, style, and top quality, so you can fully enjoy your winter sports adventure. Explore our collection and find your perfect insulated ski jacket!

Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.

GOOD TO KNOW

  • You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
  • Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
  • After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
  • Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
  • Returns are at your own risk and expense.
  • If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
  • If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.

STEP BY STEP GUIDE:

1. Check your items

√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired

√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?

√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?

2. Submit your return online

Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).

You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.

3. Pack your return

√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.

Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged

√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel

√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel

√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

If you have chosen to send via another carrier, please write the return address on the parcel:

Skistore Swing

De Opslach 3

8448 GV Heerenveen

The Netherlands

4. Shipping

Hand over your return at a DPD parcel point or a carrier of your choice.

Returning (part of) your order is at your own risk. Keep the proof of delivery until we have received and processed your package.

Please note! After registering your return online, you have 14 days to return your parcel to the postal service. If you return the parcel after these 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return.

5. Refund

You will receive confirmation by e-mail when your return has been received and processed.

This is usually within a few days after your order has been delivered to us. The money will then be refunded to the account you paid with within a week after confirmation (usually longer for credit card payments). If you have chosen to pay afterwards, this will be adjusted on your Klarna invoice.

Please note! If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.

The Arc'teryx Cormac Logo Shirt SS is a men's short-sleeve technical t-shirt in 40d Phasic LT, a 110 gsm waffle-knit polyester, built for high-output mountain days in warm weather. It is the logo version of the Cormac shirt, so you get the same fast-drying knit with a visible Arc'teryx graphic. There is no membrane and no insulation: this is a single-layer knit tee and nothing more.

Who is the Cormac Logo Shirt SS for?

It suits hikers, trail runners, rock climbers and boulderers who want a light, quick-drying tee for hot days, and who already own a shell or an insulated layer for everything colder or wetter. It also works as everyday and travel wear. It is not a cold-weather garment on its own, it gives you no wind or rain protection, and it is not a winter base layer, because it is a summer-weight short-sleeve top rather than a long-sleeve thermal. If you want discreet branding, choose the plain Cormac instead: this is the graphic version and the logo is prominent.

How does the waffle knit perform in the heat?

The Arc'teryx Cormac Logo Shirt SS uses a 40d Phasic LT waffle knit at 110 gsm, with a total garment weight of 110 g. The waffled surface structure keeps airflow moving across the skin and moves sweat off it, and the fabric is finished to wick moisture and dry quickly. A laminated collar keeps the neckline clean, and low-profile merrow stitching at the seams reduces bulk under a pack strap or a harness. Odour control comes from a Silvadur anti-odour treatment applied to the polyester, so it is a finish on the fabric rather than a property of the fibre.

Which size should you choose?

Arc'teryx cuts this shirt in a Regular fit, comfortable through chest, waist, hip and thigh, so it hangs off the body rather than clinging. That cut layers cleanly under a midlayer or a shell, and it is equally happy worn next to the skin on its own. Check the Arc'teryx men's tops size chart on this page and compare the centre back length per size before you order. The shirt is offered here in M, L and XL.

What is Phasic LT and how is the Cormac Logo Shirt SS built?

Phasic LT is the knit family Arc'teryx uses for warm-weather moisture management, and in the Arc'teryx Cormac Logo Shirt SS it appears as a 40d yarn knitted into a Solotex waffle structure at 110 gsm. The waffle is the whole engine: the raised grid holds the fabric slightly off the skin so air can pass and sweat can spread out and evaporate instead of pooling. Construction is deliberately minimal to keep that airflow intact. There is one body fabric, a laminated collar instead of a stitched-and-taped neck binding, and low-profile merrow stitching at the seams so nothing stands proud under a rucksack hip belt or a climbing harness. Nothing is laminated, coated or lined.

Is the Cormac Logo Shirt SS suitable for hiking, trail running and climbing?

Yes, and that is the use it was drawn for. On a hot ascent the Cormac Logo Shirt SS works as the only thing you wear: short sleeves, 110 g of fabric and an open knit that keeps venting while you push. On rock and in the boulder field the merrow seams and the flat laminated collar stay comfortable under a harness and a chalk bag. On a spring skin track in high sun it can serve as a short-sleeve next-to-skin layer under a midlayer or shell. Where it stops is clear: with no insulation, no membrane and no stated wind resistance, the Arc'teryx Cormac Logo Shirt SS gives you nothing once the weather turns. Put a shell over it in rain, wind or snow, and treat it as a warm-weather garment rather than a ski layer.

What is it made of and how do you wash it?

The body is 100% polyester in the form of 40d Phasic LT, and the construction notes describe the Solotex waffle fabric as made with recycled content. Polyester is what makes the shirt dry fast and resist snagging, but it is also why the care routine matters: machine wash gentle at a medium temperature, keep dark colours separate, skip the fabric softener so the wicking finish stays open, and double rinse. Tumble dry on low heat, iron on low if you need to, and do not bleach or dry clean. Like all synthetic knits, it can release plastic microfibres into the water when washed. Note too that the anti-odour performance is an applied Silvadur treatment, not an inherent fibre property, so if you specifically want the odour control of merino wool, this is not that shirt. Reviewers are split on the hand of the waffle surface: most describe it as soft, one found it rough enough to cause skin irritation, so consider that if your skin is very sensitive.

How sustainable is this shirt?

The body fabric carries recycled content, the garment is PFAS compliant, and it is sewn in a Fair Trade Certified facility, MAS Active (Private) Limited - Asialine in Sri Lanka. Fabric and dyeing originate in Japan, with manufacture in Sri Lanka.
