Is your purchase not quite what you expected or is the size incorrect? No problem, you can easily return your order to us. You may try on and view an item as you would in a shop, but there are some rules.
GOOD TO KNOW
- You have 14 days from receipt of your order to register your return.
- Are you too late? Then your order will no longer be found in the portal. In that case, always contact us first so we can see what possibilities there are.
- After registering online, you then have 14 days to hand in your return at the post office. If you hand in the parcel after the 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return. The sooner you register and send in your return, the sooner it will be processed and you will receive your money back.
- Almost all outerwear and trousers are delivered with a large yellow return label. Do not remove this until you decide to keep the item! Once this vignette has been removed, there is no way we can return the item.
- Returns are at your own risk and expense.
- If you return part of your order, we will only refund the amount of the returned items and not other costs such as shipping costs.
- If you have received an incorrect or damaged item, please always contact us a.s.a.p. and include photos of the product and the labels so we can see which item/defect is concerned.
STEP BY STEP GUIDE:
1. Check your items
√ Has the return period of 14 days after receipt not expired
√ Is the yellow return label (in the case of outerwear and trousers) and all price tags still attached?
√ Is the article unworn and therefore not dirty, damaged or creased?
2. Submit your return online
Enter your own postcode and the full order number (including letters) in the portal to which you can start the return. You can choose to purchase a DPD shipping label via the portal. If you choose this option, print the shipping label. You can download this immediately and it will also be sent to you by e-mail (please check your e-mail address and any spam mail).
You can also choose another carrier outside the portal. We always advise you to send the parcel insured. The DPD label via the portal insures your parcel up to €500.
3. Pack your return
√ Fold the items neatly and close all zips and buttons. Because of the technical materials it is important not to cause serious creases and wrinkles, as these can damage the product.
Then pack the items back in their original packaging and put them in the shipping bag or box. Another bag or box is also fine, as long as it is sturdy so that it arrives undamaged
√ If you have items from several orders that you wish to return, you may simply return them in 1 parcel
√ Put the enclosed packing slip/order confirmation (or a copy) in the parcel
√ Stick the DPD shipping label on the parcel.

4. Shipping
Hand over your return at a DPD parcel point or a carrier of your choice.
Returning (part of) your order is at your own risk. Keep the proof of delivery until we have received and processed your package.
Please note! After registering your return online, you have 14 days to return your parcel to the postal service. If you return the parcel after these 14 days, we will unfortunately no longer be able to process your return.
5. Refund
You will receive confirmation by e-mail when your return has been received and processed.
This is usually within a few days after your order has been delivered to us. The money will then be refunded to the account you paid with within a week after confirmation (usually longer for credit card payments). If you have chosen to pay afterwards, this will be adjusted on your Klarna invoice.

The Arc'teryx Alpha Jacket is an uninsulated three-layer GORE-TEX PRO hardshell jacket for men, built for alpine climbing and fast technical ascents. Two harness-compatible chest pockets, articulated patterning and a harness-compatible length keep it functional under a climbing harness and a pack. There is no insulation and no lining in this jacket, so every bit of warmth has to come from the layers underneath.
Who is the Arc'teryx Alpha Jacket for?
This is a shell for climbers and ski tourers who want one lightweight GORE-TEX PRO hardshell for moving fast in bad weather, and who already own a midlayer they trust. It is less suited to lift-served resort days: no powder skirt and no ski-pass pocket are part of this model, and there are no hand-warmer pockets. If you want a heavier face fabric for sustained severe weather and heavy abrasion, Arc'teryx positions the Alpha SV Jacket as that option.
How weatherproof is the Alpha Jacket?
The protection comes from a three-layer GORE-TEX PRO construction that is waterproof, windproof and breathable in one laminate, with no separate lining to soak up moisture. Underarm pit zips dump heat on a climb or a skin track without opening the front. The adjustable StormHood, Velcro cuff closures and Cohaesive hem adjusters, which you can work with gloves or mittens on, let you seal the jacket down in wind-driven rain and spindrift.
Which size should you choose in the Alpha Jacket?
The Alpha Jacket has a Regular fit: comfortable through chest, waist and hip, cut to be worn over a base layer and a midlayer. Sizes run XS to 2XL, though some colourways are offered in a narrower range. How is the Arc'teryx Alpha Jacket built?
The Arc'teryx Alpha Jacket is a three-layer hardshell: face fabric, GORE-TEX PRO membrane and backer are bonded into a single laminate, so there is no loose lining to flap, wet out or add bulk under a harness. The patterning is articulated, which means the sleeves and shoulders are shaped to follow a reach overhead instead of lifting the hem with them, and the body length is cut to sit clear of a climbing harness. An adjustable StormHood, Velcro cuffs and hem adjusters you can operate with mittens complete the weather seal, and a RECCO reflector is built in to improve searchability by rescue teams equipped with RECCO detectors.
Is the Alpha Jacket suitable for ski touring and alpine climbing?
Alpine climbing and fast technical ascents are what this jacket was designed around. The pocket layout says it plainly: two chest pockets you can still reach with a harness and pack on, one with a zip, plus an internal zippered security pocket and an internal dump pocket for skins, a glove or a map. On a ski tour the Arc'teryx Alpha Jacket works as the outer shell over an insulating midlayer, with the pit zips managing the heat of the climb and the hardshell taking over on the descent. Where it stops is the resort: no powder skirt and no ski-pass pocket are listed for this model, and standing at a lift in deep cold will expose the fact that the jacket itself adds no warmth. Hiking and scrambling in wet, windy weather suit it well.
How do you wash and care for the Alpha Jacket?
A three-layer laminate keeps working best when it is clean, because body oils and grime on the face fabric make water sit and spread rather than bead. Machine wash the Arc'teryx Alpha Jacket on a medium setting, on its own, with all zips and Velcro closures done up so they cannot abrade the fabric. Skip fabric softener and bleach entirely, as both leave residues that interfere with the laminate's breathability, and run a double rinse to clear the detergent. Take the jacket out of the machine straight away instead of leaving it sitting wet, then tumble dry on a normal cycle at medium heat. Do not dry clean and do not iron.
What should you know before you order the Alpha Jacket?
This is a climbing-first shell, and the trade-offs are deliberate.
